Expedition in the forest exposition

Unusual research tasks, engaging practical work and an interesting narrative allows families and small groups to explore the diverse forest kingdom. The expedition is designed as a cycle of programmes, in which each of them will get to know one part of the forest – plants, mushrooms and inhabitants.

IN THE PARK

Expedition No. 1 - TREES

The First or Expedition No. 1 is about trees – the dominant plant form in the forest ecosystem and a versatile natural resource.

To create a wooden bark imprint, to recognise it by the leaves, fruit, to determine its age, length and height according to different methods – these are tasks for the participants of the expedition in the Forest Museum and the Palace park. The challenge is definitely to saw down -219 g of forest! The set of tasks prepared for the continuation of the expedition allow you to use the newly acquired knowledge independently and in nature.

IN THE PARK

Expedition No. 2 - ANIMAL FUR

The Second or Expedition No. 2 is about Animal fur – with the aim to find out what furry animals live in the Forest expositions, why they need a fur coat, and how it affects their daily lives. Almost all mammals change their fur, including its colour, when the winter approaches. After being given the fur samples you will be able to test your skills in recognising fur animals. In the end, the children will get a worksheet with animal silhouettes and be able to paint the silhouette of their favourite animal seen in the forest expedition.
